The approx. 5500 m² large residential and commercial building at Markgrafenstraße 35 in a prominent location on the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte was acquired for the Kurth Group´s portfolio in 2010. The aim was to optimise this property in a prime city centre location by actively redesigning and re-renting the space previously used by the seller company and to retain it as a long-term investment property.
Over the past few years, numerous areas in the property have been renovated in line with modern requirements and rented on a long-term basis to a diverse and sustainable mix of different tenants, ranging from a Berlin entrepreneur to a state representative office and an international company.
The aim of the acquisition was to create value from the unused reserves of this prestigious property on one of the most beautiful squares in the middle of the German capital.
